Hairmax Laser Cap review

If you’re considering investing in a Hairmax Laser Cap, you probably want to know if it really works and whether it’s worth the price. After using mine consistently for over two months, I’m sharing my first impressions, experience buying it, and early results in this Hairmax Laser Cap review.

In my previous post about Hairmax, I shared my Hairmax laser comb review, which I’ve had for over 15 years.

This summer, I decided to upgrade and try the Hairmax Laser Cap.

While I plan to share a full update after 6–12 months of use, I wanted to post my first impressions so far.

Why I purchased the Hairmax Laser Cap

Hairmax laser caps are not cheap, there’s no denying that. As of now, Hairmax offers only one laser cap model priced at around $1,699. However, when I made my purchase, there were two versions available: a more affordable model that required 30 minutes per session, and a newer model designed for 7-minute treatments.

I decided to go with the less expensive Hairmax Laser Cap, mainly because I was already investing a lot and wanted to see if it would deliver results before spending more.

After using my Hairmax Laser Comb for over 15 years, I knew the technology worked for me. My hair felt thicker, and I noticed that minoxidil absorbed better after each treatment. Still, the comb required me to stand and move it through my hair for at least 10-15 minutes, which often made it difficult to stay consistent.

That’s what motivated me to switch to the Hairmax Laser Cap, a hands-free, time-saving option that fits much more easily into my daily routine.

Key reasons I switched to the Hairmax laser cap

  • I wanted a more convenient solution for hair growth maintenance.
  • It’s completely hands-free, so I can multitask while using it. For instance, I work at my computer while I keep it on my head.
  • I had a good experience with my Hairmax laser comb in the past.
  • Ease of use was the main reason I decided to buy a cap, and not a newer version of the comb.

My experience buying the Hairmax laser cap

Honestly, my experience buying the Hairmax Laser Cap wasn’t smooth. I was directed to their Shopify store to complete the purchase, but I never received a confirmation email.

I tried reaching out to Hairmax customer support three times to verify my order, but to this day, I haven’t received any response.

The shipping deadline passed, and still no email arrived—but after about 2–3 weeks, the laser cap finally arrived by post.

Because of this experience, I’m now hesitant to purchase directly from Hairmax again. If I were to buy another device in the future, I would opt for Amazon instead.

First impressions after two months of use

Overall, my Hairmax Laser Cap review after two months is positive. The cap is medium-sized, slightly large for my head, but it still fits comfortably and works well.

Here’s my routine: I wash my hair, apply minoxidil, and then put on the cap. One of the biggest advantages is how convenient and hands-free it is. I can work or do other tasks while the treatment runs, which means I never miss a session.

I typically use the cap 3–4 times per week. The experience is completely painless, and the only sensation is a gentle warmth on the scalp. The device beeps every 10 minutes, which can be a helpful reminder to switch your hair part, but I usually leave it on without changing my middle part.

The laser cap also came with a sturdy storage bag, which I find very useful. It keeps the cap safe from damage and makes it easy to store when not in use.

And it also comes with a cotton cap that you can use to hide the plastic cap with lasers (at the moment, I do not use it).

My results so far

After two months of using the Hairmax Laser Cap, I’ve noticed some regrowth along my part line, though this could also be influenced by my hair loss treatment I’m using.

I plan to update this post after six months, as that’s usually the point when visible results become more noticeable.

From my previous experience with the Hairmax Laser Comb, I know that laser treatments are a great complementary solution. They help make new, tiny regrowth hairs stronger and healthier.

But I wanted to write a Hairmax Laser Cap review

But I want to stress that using a laser cap instead of Minoxidil or some other treatment will not work unless your hair loss is very mild.

So, only consider buying this if you already have a treatment plan that you use and you just want something that will even further improve your results.

Consistency is key. If you tend to have hair or skincare devices lying around unused, this device may end up being more of a waste of money than a benefit. Make sure you can commit to regular use before investing.
