I purchased NuFace Mini 4 years ago: my honest review
In August 2022, I purchased a NuFace Mini. I was 44, and I noticed jowls forming for the first time. Then I saw a lot of people online talking about NuFace and how it helps them lift their face.
Like a lot of similar devices (my hair laser comb), this one sat in my drawer for a long time. Unused.
I would sometimes pick it up and use for a couple of weeks, and then forget about it.
The problem is, whenever I stop using it, all the results are gone pretty fast. You only get a tightening effect if you use it regularly.
Fast forward to this year, and my jowls are now way more prominent. That motivated me enough to start using it regularly. I also now have a very good habit system in place and I am able to introduce new small habits throughout the day and actually stick with them.
Here are my thoughts about this device:
Do I like the NuFace Mini?
The device itself works without any issues. The battery is ok even when I go through months and months of not using it. I also do not need to charge it often.
In fact, I haven’t charged it for months and it’s going strong.
It is a small device, easy to hold it and use it on your face. It is also small enough that you can travel with it without any issues.

What I don’t like about it
I don’t like the price of the conductive gel that NuFace sells. It is way too expensive, and my skin does not like it, so I have to wash it off every time I am done using the device.
I feel like I am wasting money.
Sometimes the device gives you a light tingling feeling. That’s usually because the gel has dried and it needs to be reapplied.
Would I repurchase the device?
At 47 years old, yes, I would. I really don’t think anyone needs this device before 40 or before you notice sagging.
I see a lot of young people buying these types of devices and then saying they don’t work. I just think you need to have a certain level of sagging before you can notice any results.
The same goes for my LED mask. I notice way more benefits now that I am 45+.
How to stay consistent with it
I would just say, don’t buy this device if you are in an extremely busy period of your life. I bought it when the kids were small and then couldn’t use it for three years. So just buy it when you notice that you have enough time to regularly use it.
Set a specific time when you plan to use it. For me, that’s in the morning. I use my CurrentBody LED in the evening, and NuFace in the morning. That’s the only way I can remember to actually use it.
FAQs About the NuFace Mini
My friends always ask me the same questions about this device, so here are the answers.
For me, yes, but only when I use it consistently. The moment I stop, the tightening effect disappears. It’s not a one-time fix; it’s more like a habit you have to keep up.
I use it regularly, at least 5 days a week. When I only use it occasionally, I don’t notice anything.
I don’t think you need it before 40, or before you actually notice jowls or sagging. I see younger people buy it and say it doesn’t work, and I think that’s because there isn’t enough sagging yet for the device to have something to lift.
The device needs it to work, but I don’t love it. NuFace’s own gel is expensive, and it irritates my skin, so I wash it off right after every session. I recently tried Medicube gel, and it works ok, too.
No, and I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. It gives a much more subtle result. If you want something dramatic, this isn’t it.
I set a fixed time for it. I do NuFace in the morning and LED in the evening, so it’s attached to something I already do. And don’t buy it during a busy period of your life; you just won’t use it.
